Jon - Health

Just an update

I recently had some very minor surgery which unfortunately brought about a brief worry about whether or not i would be able to continue with the project and even the rest of the final year, mainly due to the fact I am unable to transport myself to campus and find it very difficult to sit down for extended periods of time.

This being said after some time to think and consider my choices, retaking the year is not an option im will to take, so stating officially:

I agree to continue with the project and the rest of my final year to the best of my abilities. The University of Kent - Electronics Department have given me a list of possibilities in regards to whether I am well enough to complete the academic year, and it is my choice alone to continue. It is to my understanding that the UKC - Electronics Department support my decision, and will offer aid me in future should my condition deteriorate.

Now.... Onto Graduation

Posters

To go with our promotional DvD, we are going to be designing and printing a double sided poster to include with the DvD as a Donington Promotional Package to distribute to the chosen magazines.

Poster #1

The first side of the poster will be an aerial view of the track in high enough quality so that the buildings and track are clearly visible. They will then be labeled with information and facts about each building, corner and the track in general. Presented with the same colour theme use throughout the project (Orange on Black).

Poster #2

The flip side of the poster will be a stylsh beauty shot dipicting one of the cars in high resolution, this is so the consumers can decide whether or not to have a factual poster or a more exciting poster on their wall. This will be bordered in the same way and also stick to the previously mentioned colour theme.

Track

The track is now completed to a happy standard and is now just being "tinkered" with for little details before the final render begins. Very happy with the way things have turned out and we are very excited to finally get to the last leg of the project.

Hope you enjoy the final results

Meeting with David

David Byers Brown was kind enough to take a good hour of his day to help with lighting effects and render settings, a greatly appreciated deed that will be acknowledged in the final copy of the report. By playing with render and light settings he said nothing that was not of use.

Alex as able to provide a HUGE library of photographic textures that really give a distinct and professional look to the models.

Animatics are being rendered to test render and light settings, before the final renders are pushed out.

Prototype results

After delivering the presentation to S.Kelly and DB.Brown the team was quite confident about how it went, the small demonstration clip that alex put together was received well by the group, with some very welcome compliments from peers.

Any questions that were raised were met confidently and the team left no angle unguarded.

The final mark was 14/20 which is clocked at 70%. A great result and better than the last presentation which was a surprise, but welcome none the less. Also some welcome suggestions from both Steve and Byers were offered which are being taken into consideration.

Over all it went very well and the team are pleased with the final result
